Prof. Dr. Karl-Heinz Kuck is the head of the Department of Cardiology at the Asklepios Klinik in Hamburg. Throughout his career he has earned several prizes for his work, including the Science Prize of the Gertrud Spitz Foundation and a silver badge of honor from the German Society for Cardiology – Heart and Circulatory Research.

Prof. Kuck has carried out extensive scientific research in the area of cardiology, including methods of electrical isolation of pulmonary veins, and has published extensively in fields including renal denervation. He is the former President of the European Heart Rhythm Association and the current President of the German Society of Cardiology, and has authored more than 450 scientific papers, many related to his specialization in catheter ablation. Professor Kuck serves as a reviewer for multiple medical journals, including European Heart Journal, Europace, Heart Rhythm, Journal of Clinical Electrophysiology, JACC and Circulation Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology. Prof. Kuck received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Cologne.
